Advanced Hearing Aid Technology

The biggest reason that prevents many people that are in desperate need of caring for their hearing health from making the right decision is the outdated stigma attached towards hearing aids, with many of us remembering the large, clunky devices found next to our grandparents’ drawers.

The good news is that hearing technology has drastically progressed over the past decade with the latest technology being small, discreet, and practically invisible.

In fact, we have had patients that have been wearing hearing aids for several months tell us that none of their family or friends have even realized.

Many of our patients’ favorite things about the latest hearing technology isn’t the small size, but it’s the features and technology that they boast with smartphone connectivity and rechargeable batteries.

This means that you can stream music, your television, and phone calls directly to your hearing aids.

The days of hearing aids solely amplifying your hearing have now gone. In today’s world, hearing aids amplify your life.

STYLES

The Different Styles of Hearing Aids

Invisible-In-Canal (IIC) – Tiny & Often Invisible

Designed for the mild to moderate hearing loss patient, these custom-fit hearing aids are inserted deep into your ear canal, so, quite often, they’re totally invisible to the naked eye, which is ideal if you’re in any way concerned about how it’ll look.

Completely In The Canal (CIC)

The only difference between these and the IICs is that there’s a small “handle” that peers out the side of the ear.

In-The-Canal (ITC)

These hearing aids are made to look like they’re part of your natural ear and are perfect if your hearing is deteriorating at a steady pace, which makes them great for the mildly severe hearing loss patient. They’re easily inserted and removed, and also come in skin-matching colors.

Receiver-In-Canal

Incredibly comfortable to wear, these hearing aids fit like a glove into the ear’s outer entrance and offer maximum hearing coverage. Patients who suffer from a mildly severe to severe hearing loss might benefit the most from choosing this type.

In-The-Ear (ITE)

Incredibly comfortable to wear, these hearing aids fit like a glove into the ear’s outer entrance and offer maximum hearing coverage. Patients who suffer from a mildly severe to severe hearing loss might benefit the most from choosing this type.

Behind-The-Ear (BTE)

Often the most stigmatized type of hearing aid and the one people usually think of, these ones are only for patients with the most severe hearing loss. They’re clear and not too visible if you have hair, and come with really easy-to-use buttons.
