Phonak Hearing Aids
Phonak Hearing Aids
Phonak is among the most innovative hearing aid manufacturers in the industry, producing their first portable hearing device in 1950. For more than 70 years, a leader in the development of wireless communication, Phonak has a long line of innovations in the hearing aid technology industry.
Visaton Super, a pair of glasses with integrated hearing aids, was among their first innovations in 1967, which was followed by the world’s first BTE (behind-the-ear) hearing aid (Phonette) in 1970. Phonak introduced a new type of audio input that became the foundation for FM hearing devices in 1979.
PICS, the first digitally programmed hearing aid with an analogue processor, became available in 1992, with AudioZoom multi-microphone concept following that in 1994, and the first tiny FM receiver, MicroLink, in 1996.
The first digital hearing system with FM receiver became available in 1999 and the tiny MLx ear-level FM receiver hearing system the following year. Bluetooth integration technology, SmartLink (2003), became the foundation for the development of bionic systems like Binaural VoiceStream Technology, capable of improving sound distinction by up to 45% in challenging noise environments.
After the development of water-resistant housings in 2008, Phonak integrated the material with nano-digital technology in order to develop the world’s only extended wear hearing product.
