LAST UPDATED: Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

As Tri-Cities and Walla Walla’s most trusted hearing care professionals, all eyes have been carefully following the developments with COVID-19. With our patients’ health and wellbeing as our number one priority, a seven-step plan has been developed following recommendations of the CDC.

As of March 17, 2020, patients are still welcome for appointments, but your assistance to ensure that all risk is mitigated is essential through the following seven steps.

1. Your “Hearing Health Hotline”

If you are having a problem with your hearing aids, have a question, or need any form of help, then you are encouraged to call before visiting. In many situations, you may be able to get the help that you’re looking for without having to leave your house. Our hotline is open from 9 am - 5 pm Monday to Friday.

2. The Waiting Room is Closed

Our waiting room is temporarily closed to minimize your time spent in the office. This has been achieved by having extended availability to see patients as soon as they arrive with more spaced appointments. Walk-ins are currently unavailable.

3. Rescheduling Routine Appointments

All patients that are scheduled for routine maintenance checks and non-urgent appointments are currently being contacted and rescheduled. In situations where you may need batteries, please call the “Hearing Health Hotline” and you’ll be able to receive them via the mail.

4. Minimum Company for Appointments

You’re kindly asked to bring a maximum of one person with you for your appointment, and ideally visit alone if possible.

5. Thorough Cleaning Between Appointments

Between appointments, additional time has been scheduled to thoroughly clean all surfaces, sterilize areas between patients, and ensure each patient is entering a sterile environment.

6. Self-Assessment Prior to Appointments

In the same way that our team's health is being monitored daily through temperature checks and routine hand sanitation, you are kindly asked to reschedule your appointment if you have had a fever or cough, or have traveled out of the country during the past two weeks.

7. Hand Washing on Arrival

You will be asked to use the hand sanitizer provided upon entering the building to protect yourself, other patients, and our team.

Sound Audiology & Hearing Aids is taking advanced levels of protocol to protect you, other patients, and our team to ensure that your overall health is prioritized.

You can contact the “Hearing Health Hotline” at (509) 572-2444

Please know that our entire team is here for you.

Best regards,

Lori Losey Lovato, MA, FAAA
